In my previous blog, I discussed my financial goals for 2019 and how I plan to reach them. For this blog post, I introduce my fitness goals because, c’mon, it would not be a Lose Lose Win blog without talking about finance AND fitness.
Fitness and being healthy has always been included in my New Year Resolutions, but it was only in 2017 that I took these goals seriously. To be honest, currently I have fallen off the bandwagon and gained some weight. However, I am ready to get back in the game and make this my healthiest year to date. I reflected on all of my accomplishments and setbacks to cultivate these new goals for 2019, and one thing really stood out: my unhealthy leaky gut.

Last year, I came across an audiobook on Audible called Eat Dirt, written by Dr Josh Axe, that talks about Leaky Gut Syndrome and how we can fix it. I revisited this book recently, and let me tell you, it changed my perspective on becoming healthy because all the symptoms describing leaky gut syndrome (chronic bloating, eczema, brain fog, fatigue, and carb cravings) described me to a tee. This website from Healthline is a great summary of what Leaky Gut Syndrome is.
So my fitness SMART goals for the year will surround around healing my leaky gut, and here they are:
- Losing 8% body fat by the end of the year.
- Working out 4 times a week, with three of those days being focused on strength training.
- Limiting fast food to only twice a month.
- Eating a Leaky Gut healing diet for at least 5 days a week for one year.
- Committing one day a week for doing a hobby that I love to decrease my stress.

I highly recommend reading Dr Josh Axe’s book! Check out future blogs to see how I do on this fitness journey and more information on how my Healing Leaky Gut diet is progressing. Let’s do this!
